SAC Degree Program

The program at the Sonic Arts Center constitutes a four year, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music with a concentration in Music and Audio Technology. Our program provides an in-depth curriculum emphasizing real-world skills with a project-based approach. Students will receive a solid theoretical grounding in all aspects of audio technology and use this knowledge to support creative output in music and sound design projects. In addition to our audio technology courses students pursue studies in music theory, musicianship, keyboard, performance, and history insuring that they are equipped to compete in a field that today demands a highly diverse skill set.


The degree requirements consist of 120 total credits drawn from the Core Requirements. Free Electives, and the Major Flied Courses. The CCNY Course Bulletin can provide descriptions of the Core Courses and the Core Requirements in general.
