The Sonic Arts Center is proud to announce that we have created a Media Page for our website showcasing student and graduate work. The Media Page includes videos of class recording sessions, readings of student arrangements, commercials and trailers, as well as music recordings, slide shows, and a list of professional credits. The Media Page provides a unique insight into the educational process at the Center as well as the high quality of work by our students and graduates. Congratulations to all past and present students who’s work is featured in our Media Page!
Bernie Worrell, musician extraordinaire, passed away last week and leaves behind a profound legacy of music making from his work as keyboardist with Parliament-Funkadelic , the Talking Heads, and numerous other artists and bands. Bernie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 along with his bandmates from Parliament-Funkadelic. Bernie was at the Sonic Arts Center in the Spring of 1997 recording keyboard and piano parts for an album by The Devotees called Gimme Gimme. The session was engineered by Grammy winning engineer Jeff Jones. Needless to say, the two days that Bernie spent at the Center were filled with impassioned and inspiring music making.
