Bernie Worrell, musician extraordinaire, passed away last week and leaves behind a profound legacy of music making from his work as keyboardist with Parliament-Funkadelic , the Talking Heads, and numerous other artists and bands. Bernie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 along with his bandmates from Parliament-Funkadelic. Bernie was at the Sonic Arts Center in the Spring of 1997 recording keyboard and piano parts for an album by The Devotees called Gimme Gimme. The session was engineered by Grammy winning engineer Jeff Jones. Needless to say, the two days that Bernie spent at the Center were filled with impassioned and inspiring music making.
