On Friday April 29 the album Tower Music by Joseph Bertolozzi will be released on Innova Recordings, iTunes, and Amazon. Three years ago SAC director Paul Kozel and Technical Director Joe Popp traveled to Paris with Mr. Bertolozzi and spent two weeks recording over 10,000 sounds on the Eiffel Tower. During the intervening years Mr. Bertolozzi cataloged each of the 10,000 sounds, selected 2,800 sounds, and then composed the nine pieces included in the album. Finally, the pieces were mixed by Paul Kozel and Joseph Bertolozzi at the Sonic Arts Center and mastered by Scott Hull of Masterdisk. During the cataloging and composing process Mr. Bertolozzi relied on Jonathan Perl for technical guidance and advice. The album is produced by Joseph Bertolozzi and Paul Kozel.
The 14th annual Garden State Film Festival took place last weekend and featured five short films that were all scored by fourth year student Taylor Bradshaw. In addition, the feature film Stuff, screened at the festival, licensed a piece of Taylor’s music for the underscore. Taylor will be graduating in June and is already a busy professional composer, arranger, and engineer working primarily on production and post production projects for film and television. Below is a trailer for one of the short films scored by Taylor entitled The Last Taxi Driver.
